Admission to all B.E. / B.Tech. degree programmes at University College of Engineering, Pattukkottai is governed by the rules and regulations of Anna University, Chennai and the Government of Tamil Nadu. Candidates seeking admission should satisfy both academic and age requirements as detailed below.

Eligibility for First Year B.E. Degree Programme :

  • Educational Qualification
    A pass in HSC (Academic) or equivalent examination with the following subjects: or HSC (Vocational Stream) with any one of the vocational subjects related to engineering and technology, together with one of the related subjects (Maths/Physics/Chemistry).
  • Minimum Marks Required
    Aggregate of 45% for General Category, 40% for BC/MBC/DNC, and 35% for SC/ST/SCA (as per current government norms).
  • Age Limit
    There is no upper age limit for admission through TNEA; candidates should, however, satisfy eligibility on the date of admission.

Admission Procedure

Admission to all undergraduate engineering programmes at University College of Engineering, Pattukkottai (UCE-PKT) is conducted strictly as per the guidelines of Anna University, Chennai and the Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Government of Tamil Nadu.

The college admits students through the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) single-window system and the Lateral Entry Counselling process.

Online Registration (TNEA):
Candidates must register through the official TNEA portal ( tneaonline.org ) and ( tneaonline.org ) by submitting their academic details and preferences.

Application Verification:
The uploaded certificates (mark sheets, community certificate, etc.) are verified through online document scrutiny by TNEA officials.

Publication of Merit List:
A rank list is published based on the cut-off marks (calculated from the marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics).

Fee Payment Schedule

Semester-wise or Annual Fee must be paid at the beginning of each term.

Refund & Withdrawal Policy

Students who wish to withdraw their admission must submit a written request to the Dean’s Office before the commencement of classes.

Refund Guidelines:

Refund of fees, if applicable, will be processed as per Anna University and DOTE norms

Delay in The caution deposit is refundable after completion of the program or upon proper withdrawal with no pending dues.

Tuition and special fees are non-refundable once the academic session begins.

Passing Requirements

As per Anna University Regulations (CBCS), students must satisfy the following to successfully complete their program:

Refund Guidelines:

  • Continuous Assessment (CA):
    Minimum of 50% marks required in internal assessments (tests, assignments, practicals).
  • End-Semester Examination (ESE):
    A minimum of 50% marks in the university examination (theory/practical) is mandatory.
    Overall aggregate of 50% (Internal + External) must be secured in each subject.
  • Attendance:
    A minimum of 75% attendance is required to be eligible for appearing in semester examinations.
  • Arrear Examinations:
    Students failing in a subject may reappear for the subsequent university examinations as per regulations.
  • Award of Degree:
    Degree will be awarded only after successful completion of all prescribed courses, practicals, projects, and internships.
